WHAT IS UNITED WAY?
United Way in Waukesha County is an independent, non-profit organization that helps to meet Waukesha County ’s health and human service needs through collaborations and partnerships. Building on more than 75 years of service, United Way engages the community to identify the underlying causes of the most significant local issues, develops strategies and pulls together financial and human resources to address them, and measures the results.
WHY SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE TO UNITED WAY?
When you give to United Way, your gift combines with others and accomplishes more than any single gift can on its own. Most importantly, United Way is driven by results. Funded programs and initiatives are reviewed annually by local volunteers to ensure desired results are achieved and allocated funds are being used effectively. Your gift changes lives and improves our community – that’s a return you can count on.
WHERE WILL YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO UNITED WAY GO?
United Way works on what our community cares about, addressing critical issues such as child care, domestic abuse, hunger, homelessness, services for people with disabilities, and services for seniors. Money raised in Waukesha County helps people in need who work in the community and call Waukesha County home. The revenue generated by United Way’s annual community campaign provides funding for almost 70 programs within 33 local non-profit agencies. United Way’s allocations volunteers and Board of Directors are responsible for making decisions about funding awarded to the 33 agencies and the oversight needed to ensure proper usage of the funds.
