United Way in Waukesha County's goal is to improve lives in our community.
To achieve this goal, we have two approaches:
- funding programs that directly impact individuals and families
- funding initiatives that identify, focus on and impact the root or underlying causes of community issues.
In the first approach United Way partners with 38 Health and Human Service agencies in Waukesha County. These agencies provide nearly ninety programs that directly impact areas that include seniors, children, homeless, disabled, domestic abuse victims, and more. Funding of these programs is based on community need and results produced.
The second approach was added to United Way's efforts within the past few years. Community Impact is based on United Way's experience that the best way to improve lives is to impact community issues before they become problems for families and individuals.
